Phebe Group

Apr 19, 2022

Phebe is a loving, caring, supportive group of women at First Christian Church who enjoy prayer, fellowship, and service projects that have a positive impact on individuals, the church, and the community. Phebe women engage in a variety of tasks from cleaning and organizing the church kitchens and decorating the parlor to making blankets for CASA children and caps and masks for hospital staff during COVID. Phebe also provides and serves meals for members’ families following a funeral memorial service. An annual fund raiser with a taco soup lunch the first weekend of Dogwood Trails Celebration raises money to support charitable community organizations and charitable foundations associated with the First Christian Church.  Funds are also used to improve the church property.  Phebe makes itself available to meet the needs of the church and community as much as possible and at the same time builds relationships among the women of the church. All women of the church are welcome, including women who may not yet be members.  Phebe meets the first Tuesday of every month at noon in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall. The next meeting will be May 3.

Attending worship service on Sunday morning gets my week started out great and with a purpose. I take great joy in service to the members of my church being a deacon. It is an honor to partake of the Lord's Supper. The format of the worship service is similar to the way it was when I was a boy growing up in this church. My parents were faithful members here and I can touch their memories each Sunday. Sometime certain hymns bring back wonderful memories of my parents, Red & Jeane Williams. I also enjoy and take comfort from fellowship with my church family and friends. We are so fortunate to have Rev. Jordan Byrd. He brings insight and clarity to the scriptures in a unique way. I always gain knowledge from his messages and also practicable ways to apply God's Word into everyday life experiences.
